What Codec Should I Use?

For the best sound quality, all calls in CommPeak Dialer, Commpeak Cloud PBX, or CommPeak Softphone are default switched to G.722 HD Wideband audio codec, which provides crystal-clear phone calls and sharper, crisper voices.

IMPORTANT

Please note that call quality depends on both the device you use and your provider.

If you're using a provider that supports G.722 Wideband codec, HD will provide superior call quality.

Also, you can maintain excellent voice quality and lower bandwidth usage with codecs such as G. 711u/a or G.729a, assuming you have the bandwidth available.
