One-Way Audio
Learn how to troubleshoot the issues with one party not hearing the other.
Issue
During a call, one party cannot hear the other.
Possible Causes and Solutions
Your calls can fail with one party not hearing the other due to the following reasons:
Reason 1. Firewall Settings
Firewalls may block audio streams. Configure your firewall to allow VoIP traffic, specifically SIP and RTP protocols. Please check the CommPeak Dialer VoIP Gateways (SIP and RTP) section for more details.
Reason 2. NAT Traversal Issues
Network Address Translation (NAT) configuration can interfere with VoIP. Implement Session Border Controllers (SBCs) or configure NAT settings to support VoIP.
IMPORTANT
We don’t recommend using mobile devices because they can encounter compatibility and configuration issues.
Certain platforms or software features usually work better on desktops due to compatibility issues with mobile devices or limited functionality on smaller screens.
Desktops often have more processing power and broader support for various applications, ensuring ptimal system performance, fewer restrictions, and better reliability.
