Configuring IP Phones

This article demonstrates how physical IP phones can be configured for CommPeak VoIP services using PBX Stats credentials. It provides setting examples for Yealink, Grandstream, and Fanvil IP phones.

TIP

You can also configure your IP phone with your SIP account username and password from your CommPeak Portal account. For more details, please refer to this article.

Login Credentials

As login credentials for an IP Phone, you will need a device number and password from PBX Stats, as well as the name of your PBX domain.

In PBX Stats, go to Configuration > Devices. Find the device you want to register in the IP phone and copy its credentials.

Configuration Examples

The following sections contain configuration examples for several IP phone models.

Yealink

Yealink Account form

  • Label: the name that will be shown on the phone screen display

  • Display Name: same as Label

  • Register Name: the device number from the PBX Stats Devices section

  • User Name: same as Register Name

  • Password: the device password from the PBX Stats Devices section

  • Transport: UDP

  • Server Host: your PBX domain name

  • Server Expires: 60 seconds

Grandstream

Grandstream account form

  • Account Name: the name that will be shown on the phone screen display
  • SIP Server: your PBX domain name
  • Outbound Proxy: leave blank
  • SIP User ID and Authenticate ID: the device number from the PBX Stats Devices section
  • Authenticate Password: the device password from the PBX Stats Devices section
  • Name: same as Account Name.

Fanvil

Fanvil account settings

  • Username: the device number in the PBX Stats Devices section

  • Display name: name that will be shown on the phone screen display

  • Authentication Name: same as Username

  • Authentication Password: the device password from the PBX Stats Devices section

  • SIP Proxy Server Address: your PBX domain name.
