What Is DID?

DID (or DDI) stands for Direct Inward Dialing, an origination service that gives a business, a call center, or an individual workstation its own virtual phone number. CommPeak offers geographic, mobile, toll-free, national, and premium DIDs.

How Can I Get my DIDs Incoming Messages Into TextPeak?

You can configure forwarding SMS messages sent to DIDs to your CommPeak SMS account by following the instructions on configuring your DIDs using TextPeak.

Can I Set Up My Own Prefix for Calling One Number From Different DIDs?

Unfortunately, you can't set such a prefix because it is only available for PBX but you can try to set up numbers per SIP account and switch it whenever you want to switch the caller ID.

Should Agents Add Prefixes When Dialing Out?

There is no need to add the tech prefixes when dialing out.

Can I Purchase a Virtual Number to Receive OTP Codes and Messages?

To get an SMS number that supports OTP SMS management, you must purchase a virtual phone number (DID) in your CommPeak Portal and verify your identity in your account.

How Can I Replace Old Numbers for a Specific Route?

The number replacement process may vary for CommPeak Dialer, PBX, and SIP accounts.

Are There Countries That Limit Incoming Caller IDs?

Please reach out to CommPeak support to have the DID team review any restrictions.

Can I Configure Outbound/Inbound Rates for Specific DIDs?

No, this is not possible.

Can I Recover a Canceled DID Number?

No, DID cancellations are final. A canceled number keeps receiving incoming calls for 14 days before it stops for good, but it cannot be restored during or after that period.
