Channels Replaces the Streams API in TextPeak, Plus Click2Call Destination Numbers and a Redesigned Recording Player

What's New?

❗️

IMPORTANT

The TextPeak and CommPeak Softphone features described in this release are coming soon. The articles are published ahead of the product update so they are ready the day it ships.

TextPeak

Channels replaces the Streams API

Every messaging route moves under its channel type, on a page called Channels. Existing streams appear there as channels, and every token, template, and webhook continues to work. One-time passwords move to the OTP Service, and WhatsApp templates move onto the channel that sends them. These articles describe TextPeak after the coming update.

📘

NOTE

Streams API Management and Getting Started with Streams API have been retired. Both now redirect to TextPeak Channels Overview.

Connecting a WhatsApp Business account

CommPeak Dialer and Cloud PBX

Reveal destination number on agent device

The Click2Call settings now carry a toggle that shows the destination number on the agent's device when the call comes in, instead of the generic CLICK_TO_CALL label. Where phone number masking is enabled for the agent, the destination number is masked according to those settings.

Redesigned recording player

The audio player that plays back call recordings has a new design. The controls and the options behave as they did, so the articles that describe playback are unchanged and their screenshots now show the new player.

A new way to connect a WhatsApp Business channel

Creating a WhatsApp Business channel from the Dialer or Cloud PBX no longer starts with a token and a business ID. Step 6 is now Connect WhatsApp, which hands you to Meta to authorize the account.

CommPeak Softphone

Updated call history and transfer options

Softphone 6.2.16 clears old entries from the call history on its own (except for Dialer accounts), and improves the copy buttons in the transfer dialog.
